BSc Social Psychology (1st Class) at the University of Kent in 1997, MSc in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology (1998, UCL) and DClinPsy Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (2003, UCL).
I have practiced clinical psychology in medical settings since 2003 and specialist cancer settings at Guy's & St Thomas' (2007-2013), Imperial College Healthcare (2013-2023) and King Edward VII (2021 - present). I am currently Head of Department for Health Psychology at a London NHS hospital and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Department of Surgery & Cancer at Imperial College, London. I am on the Editorial Board for the international academic journal Psycho-oncology.Â
Career highlights include the 2017 BMJ Awards for Surgery and Patient Partnership with the PREPARE prehabilitation team, the 2018 Anthony Nolan Clinical Supporter Award for work on the post-transplant care pathway. Other contributions include co-leading the 2019 NHS London guidelines for cancer psychological care and jointly editing the 2024 British Psychological Society guidance on competences for psychologists in cancer.
